A little introduction...

I assume a little background information about myself is needed before I began sending my thoughts and feelings out into cyber space and the free world. Currently, I am sitting on my bed in my college apartment after just getting back from a sorority ceremony. I am a college junior studying print journalism and I can't wait to get out into the "real world" and begin working as a writer. I hope to land an internship this summer at a magazine so I can get a feel of what it will be like after I graduate.

I grew up in a very small town in Western Kentucky. My parents got divorced when I was two. Their divorce affected me when I was younger but I rarely think about it these days. I have a half sister who is a freshman in high school (and a pain most of the time, terrible teens), a mother, father and step-father. I am really close to my mom and my sister and everyone in my family always seems to get along.

While in eighth grade, I met a boy named Logan and we continue to date to this day. He is an amazing person and I love him and appreciate him more and more each day. Logan and I are almost polar opposite, he is extremely outgoing and personable while I am more reserved. He has a huge heart and loves helping people, everyone says he will probably be Mayor someday.

I have a lot of great friends and sorority sisters, I am extremely blessed. I am a devout Christian and I believe in the infallible truth of God's word. I attend a local church and I am involved with a campus ministry. I even went to Orlando, Fla. for a whole summer being trained in evangelism and understating the Bible all while working at Aquatica, Sea World's water park. It was probably the best summer of my life and I made a lot of friends there.

I love my life and I am an incurable optimist no matter the circumstance. Sometimes it feels like nothing ever goes my way, but I have to have faith that my life is a sequence of events building on one another and eventually, everything will come full circle.

My goal in life is the same of that in my sorority creed, "To love life and joyously live each day to its ultimate good."
